The Discovery phase of the career process includes understanding who you are, such as your values, interests, and talents.

In this phase, students can meet with a career advisor to begin an introductory conversation into the majors and minors offered at Loyola, take an interest assessment like ther Strong Interest Inventory and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, utilize exploration activites, and attend self-discovery and discernment sessions hosted by the career center.

The Explore phase encourages students to get out and gain practical, hands-on experience when exploring one's interests.

This can be accomplished by experimenting with clubs and activities offered on Loyola's campus, trying out an on-campus job, getting involved in volunteer service, interacting with alumni, joining employer info sessions, and more.
preparation
The Prepare phase is the time where students get ready to present themselves on paper, online, and in person.

The career center helps students during the Prepare phase by building out resumes and cover letters, helping set up Handshake and LinkedIn profiles, and learning what interviewers are looking for by practicing interview skills.
pursuit
Lastly, the Pursue phase is when students confidently execute job, internship, or graduate school search.

The Career Center offers an on-campus interview program with local employers, provides career fairs with local and regional employers, and offers coaching on job search strategies.
